Synthesis of High Quality Nanocrystals

The use of nanocrystals as building block in nanotechnology need the development of state-of-the-art synthesis. I'm interested in understanding the mechanisms involved in the nanoparticle nucleation and growth in liquid solution, which determine their final identity. I’m exploring systems which provide well-defined metallic or semiconductor nanocrystals and allow control of their size, shape, composition and crystallinity with high homogeneity.
